Beautiful is all I have to describe the Asian Elephant (Elephas maximus). They’re found in Southeast Asia and are the largest living land animals in Asia. They’re endangered and the population has declined by at least 50% in the past three generations. It’s a shame too, humans are stealing land from these extremely intelligent animals. That’s right, these guys are highly intelligent and self-aware. This may be due to their neocortex, which humans, apes and certain dolphins also have. Due to their large volume of cerebral cortex, their brain power surpasses that of any primate. No wonder they live so long, up to 60 years in the wild!
