April and I on Flickr.
Via Flickr: April is a Florida panther, and was actually born at the sanctuary. She is the result of the pairing of a supposedly spayed mother (Elsie) and Spudnik, a cougar used for fighting pitbulls 3 at a time. He was paired with her for socialization after he was confiscated- and April, plus her other siblings, were the result. April only has a third of her stomach- the neighbors came into the sanctuary one night and gave her food with enough rat poison to kill her. Luckily, it was caught in time, and she came out alive. Now, she’s a little unpredictable, but my personal favorite. Aggressive with others, she’s quiet with me and I love to feed her.. Even though she’s a picky eater. ;) South Florida Wildlife Rehabilitation Center is a tax deductible sanctuary for abused and neglected exotic pets. We rely solely on private donations to keep open. Khrishna and I on Flickr.
Via Flickr: Khrishna is a bengal tiger previously owned by Parrot Jungle Island and leased to Animal Planet. He was given up as a ‘liability’ and is now spoiled rotten at the sanctuary. He loves attention and blood, but not nearly as much as his milk. South Florida Wildlife Rehabilitation Center is a tax deductible sanctuary for abused and neglected exotic pets. A 22-month-old female scaredy cat tiger appeared to get the shock of her young life when she encountered a dead leaf floating on a pool of water in the Bandhavgarh National Park, India. Clearly unusure about just what was approaching her, the partially submerged youngster’s tail shot up in the air and with teeth bared she let out her most fearsome growl - all in an effort to scare the humble leaf away.

Well hello.
We’re so grunge

I’m intimidating, yet small, and overly passionate. I love literature. Words in general, really. Painting is always accompanied by music, an unspoken partnership in my life. And butterflies help me from falling into a pit of unhappiness. It’s the little things that surprise people, I suppose.

So, I guess I qualify as an animal.. Considering I was requested. :3 I’m Keara, my species’ name is (damn I bet you already guessed) Homo sapiens. I’m definitely somebody who enjoys a nice, civil debate. But  my preference is sitting down where the tide touches the shore, and listening as the waves roll in. I guess I have quite a few friends, but I’m a bit of the loner.. A loner who enjoys taking pictures, of course.  Anyways, I live in the Philippines during the summer (for the most part), and Florida during the year. I’ve got pet fish & a cockatiel, which in my opinion are all too spoiled. I’m living a carefree lifestyle, but I’m someone with a little more knowledge on nature than most would think. In fact, some people in my school know me as ‘Shark girl’ because I’m a little overly obsessed. But I’m DAMN proud! Eh, well, I hope I can get to know all of my wonderful followers, and I’m sorry if I ever refer to you guys as peaches.. or other awkward things. G’bye!
